About Jim Kucharski

Jim Kucharski, also known as "Chainsaw", is your host for this musicial odyssey. He's been in the polka business for 25 years. 

He has perfomed with a number of area bands through the years, including Joe Walega, Gennie O & The Windy City Brass, Stas Golonka, The Good Times, The Ampol-Aires, Take Five, and Freeze Dried.

Jim has also filled in with a number of bands through the years, including such groups as The Downtown Sound, Lil' Richard, Polka Country Musicians, Jersey Polka Richie, Lil' Wally, John Gora & Gorale, Stephanie, The Music Company, Jimmy Kilian's Honky Chicago, Lenny Gomulka & The Chicago Push, & The New Brass Express.

Jim has recorded on 29 albums to date, including a Christmas 45RPM recording and a DVD. He is the Program Director for the POLKA JAMMER NETWORK at www.polkajammernetwork.org, and is a substitute engineer for the Richie Gomulka Polka Show on WPNA 1490AM in Chicago.

He enjoys bicycling, traveling, pizza, and going out to hear live bands. While Jim no longer performs polka music on a regular basis, he does freelance on occasion.
